WHAT TO BRING?

Those marked in ‘Bold’ are essential items to bring with you.

Footwear: Please ensure that your boots are waterproof and well ‘broken in’. New boots should be tried and tested first as blisters can be a serious problem.

Gaiters.

Wet weather gear: The weather can never be guaranteed so come prepared with extra warm clothing such as a fleece and a lightweight hooded rain shell, or Gore Tex® jacket, warm padded socks and waterproof overtrousers.

Pants: Walking pants are lightweight, comfortable and quick drying. No denim jeans are allowed as they do not dry easily and could be a problem in cold weather.

Hat: A woolen hat or balaclava is recommended.

Gloves.

Water bottle or Thermos.

Backpack: A small 15-25lt day pack is essential for carrying your personal items, extra clothing, camera and packed lunch. Remember: The bigger the pack the more you will be tempted to put in it. The more you carry the heavier it will get as the day goes on. Travel light, but travel safe. A liner is also advisable to keep the contents dry.

Sunscreen and insect repellant: Sunscreen is a must, even on overcast days. Insect repellant may be required at night in summer.

Sleeping bag liner: Cotton or silk sleeping bag liners are required and must be supplied by the client. All sleeping bags are supplied by Beyond Expeditions.

Personal first aid kit.

Sunglasses.
