Day One
Pick up in London, Manchester and Windermere and drive to our departure point in Ravenglass. Relax and enjoy the first evening’s atmosphere with new friends and eat a hearty meal cooked by our support crew. Have a drink and unwind or take a stroll in the historic town of Ravenglass.

Day Two
We start our trek with an exciting train ride on England’s oldest narrow gauge railway ‘La’al Ratty’, or ‘Little Ratty’. This takes us from Ravenglass to the picturesque village of Eskdale where, after a light mid morning tea we start our trek proper. From Eskdale station we climb out of the village, steadily gaining height as we head toward our first night’s camp at Wasdale. Our camp will be set up and a brew on the boil. A BBQ meal will be served and the rest of the evening spent relaxing under the stars. The Wasdale Hotel is within walking distance and serves some fine English ales.

Day Three
We begin our day with a breakfast of cereal, toast tea or coffee. A packed lunch will be provided and we head off into the hills. Our trek takes us up to the soaring peak of Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain at 3227 feet. Soak up the breathtaking views as we take lunch and rest. The descent to our next camp takes us down into the beautiful valley of Great Langdale. Another huge meal awaits us and the bar of the Olde Dungeon Ghyll pub is only a stones throw away for those with a taste for good beer.

Day Four
After breakfast we collect our packed lunches and take a short drive up the valley to the start of our day’s trek at Mill Beck where we ascend the path up to the remote hanging lake of Stickle Tarn. After the customary tea break we head onward and upward to the summit of Pavey Ark (2288 feet). For the adventurous there is the exhilarating climb up Jacks Rake and for those wishing a slightly less strenuous route there is the easier path leading to the summit of this Langdale monster. After lunch we make our way back down from the summit via Blea Rigg and down to the village of Easedale where we will be met by the support crew. Tonight we have a ‘night in’. Accommodation will be provided locally.

Day Five
After a good nights sleep we set off for the picturesque town of Ambleside where the morning is yours to do as you please. We meet up again for lunch and the short journey to Windermere where we will take a cruise on the tranquil Lake Windermere. More shopping is on the agenda for those with a thirst for antiques and country crafts, after which we make our way to Patterdale to camp for the night. The evening repast will again be served up by the support crew and once again we find ourselves within striking distance of a public house.

Day Six
Breakfast and packed lunch safely tucked away we make an early start up the long path to the summit of one of the Lakes real giants, Helvellyn. At 3118 feet Helvellyn commands outstanding views of the surrounding country. The route to the summit takes in the awesome knife-edge ridge of Striding Edge. For those of a nervous disposition an alternate route at the base of the arête is just as breathtaking in its beauty. A short scramble will see us top out on the huge summit plateau that is Helvellyn. Lunch with a million pound view will see us set before we descend on the opposite side of the mountain to the shores of the enchanting Thirlmere Lake. The support crew will drive us to our campsite outside Keswick. Evening meal and memories of the days walk will no doubt be a perfect end to a perfect day in the hills.

Day Seven
After breakfast we head for the village of Threlkeld where we start our gradual climb up another of the Lakes District most revered peaks, Blencathra (2847 feet). We lunch high on the summit as we gaze out over the beautiful northern fells before making our way back down to Threlkeld village via a different route. The support crew will pick us up and take us to Keswick where will spend another night ‘inside’.

Day Eight
Early start and a short drive to Little Town where we start our trek gradually gaining height until we reach the summits of Robinson and Dale Head (2385 and 2473 feet). Spectacular views can be had from these summits where we rest and take lunch. A descent from the clouds takes finally back to Little Town where the support will be waiting. We then drive to Seatoller for our night’s camp. Another BBQ meal will be presented for our delight and a few drinks will see the night draw to a close.

Day Nine
A lazy breakfast and our packed lunch stowed away we take a short drive up the B5289 before we head off on today’s trek slowly climbing our way towards the spectacular peak of Haystacks. Our descent takes us back to our start point at Gatesgarth via a different, but equally rewarding route. Our support crew will be there to collect us and we drive on to Buttermere and our campsite.

Day Ten
Our last day on the mountains. We start with the customary breakfast and a wander around Buttermere. If time permits we will take a cruise on Crummock Water before being driven back to Keswick for a spot of lunch and a bit of last minute shopping. We end our trek when we arrive at Penrith railway station for your journey home.
